I thought this was an exercise to find creativity in yourself - it's not a 'good enough' thing at all. Please DO give it a try - you'll be really surprised by your own abilities!

If you can sew one bead on a piece of fabric, you are "good enough". Choose a small size to work on and add beads. Simple as that. You will be amazed at what you can come up with. Last year we had experienced beaders and brand new beaders. I think everyone's skills went up this last year. I know mine did. It doesn't have to be big or fancy. Just put what you feel onto each page. Try different things until you find something you love, then go for it. I know you can do it.

That was my thought last year. I'll tell you a secret---you are good enough! Don't look at the other pages, look at your beads, fabric, thread, and then look in your heart. This is your expression and no one has the right to tell you it's not good enough----And they won't.

Be gentle with yourself because you are good enough and everyone here will support you and answer any questions you might have.

I was thinking of beads and scrapbooking...do you think that will fly?

Duh, Cookeg. Haven't you read the other comments? Of course your idea will fly. It doesn't matter what medium you choose as long as there is a bead in it. Scrapbooking is as valid a milieu as any other and if scrapbooking is your choice, then go for it.
Now, for a good laugh, read my "September Project" entry: it starts out 'State of brain today: missing'. Thanks to a2Susan and Shebaduhcat I learned what to do. It really is rather embarrassing to me. But before anybody can laugh at me I am pointing out my own mortal flaws with laughter. If I can ask that question, then surely you can manage very well in this Project.
Good luck, Cookeg. And to everybody else. ...Glass0

Just remember that the BJP is supposed to be fun, okay? You will surprise yourself with how "good enough" you are . . .

We are all good enough, because we are. How profound is that. Last year, I would look at the pictures and think to myself - how can I compete with the others doing this. That was my problem - compete. It's not a competetion - it's an exploration of what is inside each one of us.

What is in common is that we are all using a medium with holes in it to drag it out (some months, the exploration came out kicking and screaming, but it came out). Look forward to seeing your work.

Hi there, cookeg. Believe me, most of us have felt we weren't good enough for this at one time or another! What I learned is that each person has their own style and that's what makes them unique. So don't worry about anyone else's bjp, just have fun with yours and you'll be fine. a2susan

Take in all the wise comments above... they're right! Just try to let go of two things:

1. the need to be perfect and/or right.
2. the idea of competition, which this flat out isn't.

You'll learn and explore and have fun with the rest of us! We welcome you just exactly the way you are.

What wonderful advice & encouragement you have been given by the wise Women above.

I Know you will be fine, in the words of Robin in her book; One bead at a Time.. Just chose a bead you like & sew it on, then another & another..
