Well I just don't know what to say! I had such good intentions when I signed up, I even drafted up my actual postcard images AND did the writeups for each of the months too! It did not pan out for me except for the September and October postcard tops that I did finish off. I do intend to complete this project one of these days as I think each month portrays something that is a deep part of myself and will be uplifting and fun for me to do - when - who knows though.
I just want to say that I've added Susan's blurb for the 2010 year and hope that some of my friends may sign up. Sadly I will not do such this time but who knows maybe again in the future. It has been fun checking on the various blogs and I will check out the main site to see what has transpired this past year! Have fun all!

Another finished, one on the way
Another month is done and I have still not completed April or May but July is on the way. Just needing a face. I have been making an indian elephant with african ears this month so beading has taken a back seat except for making christmas decorations for the classes I am teaching this month.

Still in the Game

Still in the game... These 9 are mostly all done, backing on several and a little beading on a few still need to be done. The other 3 are in thinking (August); collecting and sketching (July); and sewing (June) phases.

News Flash!!!! + Please Tell Us Why....
Hi Everyone!
To give ourselves a little time to finish up the current BJP, we will start the new BJP in January of 2010 and it will run through the end of December.
Registration for 2010 BJP will begin in October, following the close of the current BJP. You can keep up to date on registration by checking the Bead Journal Project website, here. Also, I'll post a reminder in September on our blogs.
Please take a moment to answer the poll at the top of the right sidebar on the 08BJP (#1) blog, here. I'd really like to get an idea of how many people are still participating and how far along we all are. Last year we did two email follow-up surveys... This year I'm trying to get the information by polling you. I really appreciate your response!
I know everyone's busy beading... but if you can spare a moment, will you please take a moment to send me an email telling a little about your experience with the BJP... what it means to you, why you are doing it (what are your rewards), anything you think a prospective new participant might want to hear about it....
With your permission, I'd like to use some of what you write in the information we publish about the 2010 BJP. If you have any reservations about us quoting you, please let me know.
Big hugs and big bravos... Robin A.
2010 BJP is a GO!!!!

I'm BADDDDDD!
Ohhhh my but Robin is not going to be happy with me at all, hey I'm not myself either!!! See I signed up for this 12-month postcard journal project with a whole load of ensthusiasm and honest intentions and even planned out the whole YEAR's pages along with the write ups and where am I????
Yeah, you guessed it, not even the first one completed!!! BUT I have started it and am working on it in amongst the other projects on the go too!!! I've even pulled out the leaves for the October page too so hopefully that won't take as long as September's BUT November is another that might take some time putting together! I've decided I'm getting a photo album that holds two 4 x 6 photos/page and pulling out the inside divider sheet and that way you can view the fronts and the back blurbs (they are all preapred ready for print offs) too! I'm not sure about putting them into a wall hanging - this will have to suffice for now.
I just have to get going on these and they'll get done, not sure if on time though!!!

A look I like
I am new to blogging and posting pics to the net, so I've been struggling to find a look I like for my blog in addition to getting comfortable with doing bjp and putting my work out for people to see. :) I finally settled on a look I like (I think) and have started posting pics of my work in progress. You can take a look here if you want.

September Notes - Phoenix Rising
I have arthritis in my hands and right now I'm in the midst of a flare up - that means my hands are screaming in pain. And it makes sense: I need my hands right now because I have decided to make a cuff bracelet using memory wire. Those of you who have used memory wire can understand that using the stuff is painful just thinking about it.
My 1st effort and shaping memory wire into a cuff shape took several efforts but I did manage to get the shape and secured it with crimp tubes. I let it sit overnight and the next day I had the piece explode in my face. A shower of black beads went to the 4 corners of my PigPen (aka workroom, aka studio, aka office). The beads are still where they fell: I'll pick them up bit by bit.
I resigned myself to a change in design. The initial rib has been worked on it and, while I was writing about it elsewhere, I came up with another idea about shaping memory wire.
Well, the result is I have 2 cuff bracelets on the go. I've left both overnight and won't touch them again until tonight at the earliest. Pictures are posted on Bauble Babble. ...Glass0...

Using Labels and other reminders
So - it's me again. Now that we are in full swing, I'd like to repost some info from Robin:
Labels
For this BJP year, I've already determined the acceptable labels for your posts. Please stick with these labels. It will take a few posts to get them all in the index. In this post, I've added all the months. If you post about your work for a specific month, you can use the appropriate month label for it.
When you post, click on Show all at lower right of posting box, and choose appropriate label(s) from the list shown.
The reason to limit the possible labels is because it's easy to get too many labels (confusing) or ones that are too long (hide the down arrow).
Hope this is OK with everyone. If you feel it's important to add a label, please ask Diane M. (our blog master) about it. Thanks!
Please note... there are too many of us to label posts with our names. Instead, please sign every post with a link to your blog, website or email, as I have done below.
