My January Piece
January to me is a time of fridgid temperatures, blue/grey skies, bare trees and snow, snow, snow. I was involved in a crazy quilted 4" X 4" swap on another group, and used a little larger version of this threadpainted tree. I loved the image so much, I decided to use it again. It's free motion machine embroidered on a scrap of upholstery fabric that was layered with gold Angelina Fibre. A rather wobbly, peyote stitched bezel, surrounds it. I wish I could say that I planned the wobble, but no, it's just one of those serendipity things. I think this might be my favourite, so far. Now, on to February! - Anne Marie - Toronto

Oh I really like this one... then again, I like winter! very nice... wobbly or not!
All of your pieces are beautiful, but I agree with Pam. For some reason this is my favorite. I think it's the colors.

I don't think I could choose a favorite of these awesome triangles -- every one of them is stunning!

Oh, I like this one, too! Yes, it's cold and ice and snowy. I love the tree and like the way you did it with the machine embroidery and the angelina. I'm gonna have to try that someday. This is a happy winter triangle with hope of spring to come!
The tree is stunning, as is all that surrounds it, including the wobbly bezel. I love all of your triangles, Anne Marie!!!

Your work is so lovely, they all look so defferent..Texture is wonderful. You have been busy. How big are the trees? Julie C

Thanks to everyone for their kind compliments. Julie, the tree itself is around 1 1/8" tall - Anne Marie
Love the triangles...great work!
I dont think it could be more perfect! It looks intentional to have the bezel wobbly! Love it and your color choice too!
All your triangles pieces are just beautiful. The colors and different size beads in each one of your pieces go so well together.Looking forward to seeing your February bead work. Lise
Here I am rejoicing in the snow we got today (because I know it won't stay for long) and then I see your page about frigid temps. I lived in Minnesota for several years and it got quite cold there but you are even farther north. No, I sure don't envy you your winters at all but you used that experience to make a beautiful page. It looks like cold, cold winter.
Very nice, I like it a lot.
