My May Triangle

May is, quite simply, cherry blossom time. I'm not really a pink person, but I confess to waiting anxiously for those very first blossoms. This piece is about the simple joy of nature and creation. Isn't it all amazing? No, the world is not full of light, but somehow this time of year reinforces my belief in the possibility of change. The background of the tree is a scrap of monoprinted satin that I made with transfer paints. I have a postcard from this material currently hanging in the Grand National Postcard Show at Joseph Schneider Haus in Kitchner, ON. (the show opened in May). The tree is free motion embroidered by machine and the central motif is 1 1/2" X 2". The piece contains silk flowers, pearls, accent beads, 8, 11 & 15 seeds & #2 bugles. Stitches used are peyote, for the bezel, backstitch, stack stitch and free form edging.

I'd like to dedicate the pink light in this piece (okay it has some blue, red and orange as well) to Pam T. You are one courageous lady, and I'm honoured to be in the same BJP group.

I like everything about this triangle, the colors, the design, the idea of nature and creation, and most of all, dedicating it to Pam! Such generosity of spirit and community is why I like the BJP so much.

Pink light for Pam and purple silk flowers for me??? Please? Another fabulous triangle with lovely colors and a magic balance of simple and complex that you have mastered. Bravo! Robin A.

Everyone, thanks so much for your compliments. It's funny where beaded paths take you. My simple cherry blossom piece, became a symbol for happiness, peace and hope. Pam T's post, directly below mine on the blog, was a chance happening. I believe in fate and that positioning was just perfect. Pam's mention of "pink light", gave another level of meaning to my piece. For that I thank you! As for you, Robin.....yes, the purple silk flowers are indeed for you...LOL! I didn't actually realize it, but your crazy quilted square did contain silk flowers and of course, that's where I got my inspiration. I also love blue, lavender and purple flowers, so I think we have very similar tastes.

This is beautiful! I'm definitely a pink person but even if I wasn't I'd love this. I like the way you did the beads on the tree - they look very leafy!

Thanks, Anne Marie! I believe in syncronicity too, and this surely is a good example of it. Every time I scroll down the blog and see one of your triangles I get such a tingle of pleasure! And now I feel a part of this particular one because of the purple silk flowers! Hugs, Robin
